Tomorrow I take the first step of a journey I have dreamt of for a long time. The Pacific Crest Trail starts in southern California at the Mexican Border, stretches across the mountainous backbone of California, Oregon and Washington and ends at the Canadian border 2,650 miles later.

This is a journey, not unlike other journeys. We are all travelers here, doing the best we can to put one foot in front of the other day after day. We ascend the heights and drop into valleys. Sometimes the sun shines and sometimes the cold winds blow, but we just keep on. We keep on because. who knows what it is around the next bend?

I will try to share my journey and the things that the trail teaches me here. I am excited. I am afraid. But most of all I am grateful to have this chance to make a lifetime dream come true.
